MassChallenge

Babson is an academic sponsor of MassChallenge, a global business competition that provides entrepreneurs with resources to launch their ventures successfull. Nine Babson student and alumni businesses were selected as finalists out of 125 for the 2012 MassChallenge. Finalists receive mentorship and training, office space, a chance to win a share of $1 million, and more.

Klypper Inc. (Farnaz Bakhtari M'09) - Klypper is a mobile application that makes it easy to create & blend video, text, drawings and emoticons to capture and share life’s moments. It’s designed to efficiently manage the end-to-end process of sharing videos starting from editing the video, through sharing it with just the right people or people around you. Proprietor & scalable backend technology makes any types of content blending possible and saves on upload bandwidth during editing & sharing process.

Memory on Hand (Andrew Kitzenberg '09)- "Portable. Convenient. Stylish." Memory on Hand develops and delivers technology accessories for active students of the mobile generation.

Pegasus Performance (Jason Dieffenbacher M'08) - Bike crashes happen, and when they do, they really hurt. Road rash, contusions and broken bones are common. Pegasus was established after its founder, an avid bike racer, had a severe accident that nearly cost him his life. Using a patent-pending system of strategically placed sliding fabric layers, the cycling garments are engineered to be light, breathable, and protective.

recruiterbox (Raj Sheth '03) - Millions of small companies and businesses use email and spreadsheets to manage their hiring process. Recruiterbox is a web-based recruiting software that helps such companies receive all job applications at one place, from where they can collaborate on all hiring decisions, such as screening applicants and sharing candidate feedback. Around 200 companies are currently using Recruiterbox including Groupon, Codecademy, Stripe, high schools, super markets and government departments.

Sweet Corn Tortilla Chips (Cameron Sheldrake '12) - Sweet! Corn Tortilla Chips are healthy and delicious tortilla chips made from real sweet corn on the cob. They are YouthTrade certified, non GMO project verified, kosher and Gluten free. The company was started by Cameron Sheldrake, Babson College 2012 graduate and winner of the BETA Challenge. The 4 oz Lightly Salted chips will be coming to Whole Foods in Massachusetts in late June for a retail price of $3.69.

Wanderu (Polina Raygorodskaya '08) - Wanderu is the first of its kind single-point ground travel search that helps consumer quickly and easily find and book inter-city buses and trains between any two points in the country. We have secured major travel partnerships as well as strategic marketing partnerships which allows us to reach millions within our target market. We will launch in private beta within the next month.
