Social Innovation represents some of the most exciting fresh thinking and practice taking place in the world today. New types of collaboration are emerging everywhere, from the most resource-challenged remote regions to inner cities in the richest nations. New ideas and technologies are cropping up faster than anyone can evaluate them; both language and processes are being co-opted and altered even before they can be captured and studied. Corporations, small scale entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, foundations, governments – all are entering the field from different places and bringing new perspectives to it. As educators focused on teaching social innovation, we are catalyzing change while also thriving in our own unpredictable environments. As a Changemaker Campus, Babson College is hosting its annual Faculty Forum on The Future of Social Innovation Education, bringing together academics who are teaching social innovation and social entrepreneurship as well as building their institutions capacity in this growing field of practice.
Babson invites you to a convening which will provide a rich, supportive thinking space with like-minded academics to collectively explore the future of social innovation education. The two days will address what it means to be faculty catalyzing change in institutions that are changing all around us.
Being a catalyst for change within our institutions and catalyzing change within our students requires different skills, knowledge and behaviors. Connecting with peers will enable us gain insights from each other and form the necessary collaborations to influence the field of social innovation.
