William Bachman

Adjunct Lecturer

 

Bill Bachman is an adjunct lecturer in the Management division teaching Organizational Behavior.  He also teaches Organization Behavior at Boston University and is the recent Executive in Residence at Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Bill has recently retired from a position as Chief Operating Officer of Bingham McCutchen LLP, a large, global law firm based in Boston with 1000 lawyers in 16 offices including Tokyo, Beijing, Hong Kong, Frankfurt and London.  Prior to joining Bingham, Bill successfully managed two other law firms, culminating in over 30 years of law firm experience.  He has been an author on management topics for the Bill has recently retired from a position as Chief Operating Officer of Bingham McCutchen LLP, a large, global law firm based in Boston with 1000 lawyers in 16 offices including Tokyo, Beijing, Hong Kong, Frankfurt and London.  Prior to joining Bingham, Bill succcessfully managed two other law firms, culminating in over 30 years of law firm experience.  He has been an author on management topics for the National Law Journal, American Lawyer and Of Counsel magazines and has spoken at national seminars and conferences throughout his career.

Bill is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point and holds an MS in Administration from the University of California, Irvine.  Prior to his business career, he served on active duty with the US Army and the National Guard culminating in the promotion to Colonel in 1992. He taught leadership to senior cadets at West Point as an associate professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership for four years. 

Bill is married with three children and four grandchildren.
