John Balder consults and teaches graduate courses in macroeconomics, investments and financial markets. He worked from 1995 to 2009 as a portfolio strategist and client advisor in the investment management industry (with GMO, SSgA and SSRM). Prior to joining the private sector, John served as a macroeconomic and financial advisor with the U.S. Treasury Department, Federal Reserve Bank of New York and House Banking Committee. He briefly returned to Washington DC in 2009-2010 to work on the Dodd-Frank regulatory reform initiative. John has published articles about financial markets, monetary policy and asset allocation in various industry publications, including the Central Banking Journal, Challenge Magazine and Pensions & Investments.
