Tim is currently President and Chief Operating Officer of Breakaway LLC, a company focused on creating and accelerating value in consumerbrands. Tim's focus is developing growth strategies for clients and improving operating efficiencies. He has a strong skill set in developing sales strategy, sales management and training. This work was the byproduct of years of experience in which Tim served as senior management for some of the country's finest service companies, ranging from Xerox Corporation, Gartner Group to Marquis Jet Partners. Every marketing and corporate strategy that Tim develops ties marketing investments directly to a return on investment model that enables the highest level of success. Tim was the Chief Operating Officer and one of the founding partners of Altus Marketing and Management. AMM is a full service marketing and events agency.
Tim has an extensive sports business background and was most recently a senior advisor at the Fenway Sports Group, working with clients on strategy and business development initiatives. Among his accomplishments was leading the Fenway Sports Group's acquisition of the Salem Avalanche, a single A affiliate in the Carolina League.
Tim has also worked as EVP of Sales at Marquis Jet, where he built and led the national sales and client management organization. Through his sales leadership and strategy, Marquis Jet revenues grew from $135M to $495M in just four years.
Prior to this success, Tim spent nine years as a senior executive at Gartner Group. From 1992 to 1995, he led US Sales and Operations, where he grew sales from $70M to $275M while managing over 300 people and exceeding his annual profit targets. From 1995 to 2000, Tim led Gartner Group's mergers and acquisition team, where they acquired over 25 companies in 10 different countries. During his tenure at Gartner Group, revenues rose from $70M to $750M.
Over seven years at Xerox, Tim held numerous sales and sales management positions. His responsibilities ranged from a terrritory sales representative, major accounts manager, and product management prior to sales management. During this time Tim qualified for President's Club every year and, in addition, his year-end performance had him in the top 1% nationally.
Tim holds a B.S. in finance and economics from Babson College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. At Babson, he was the recipient of The George Macy Wheeler Memorial Award and was a four-year member of the Varsity Soccer team, which won the 1979 and 1980 NCAA Division III Championship. Tim is also the recipient of the 2006 American Business Award for Sales Excellence and Channel Development. He serves on the Board of Trustees at Hellenic College, Board of Directors at Apozy LLC, and the Board of Overseers at Babson College. In addition, Tim is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at Babson where he teaches in the Entrepreneurship Division and Executive Education. He is a past president of the Alpha Omega Council, a philanthropic organization based in Boston. He sits on the board of Longwood Giving and the MGH Emergency Room Advisory Group. He has completed the Boston Marathon 11 times and is enshrined in the Falmouth High School Hall of Fame.
