Margaret Metzger

Adjunct Lecturer

 

 

Peg Metzger is a seasoned attorney and health care consultant with a broad background in healthcare law, policy and management as well as issues advocacy. She began her legal career at Nutter, McClennen & Fish practicing corporate and commercial law and then spent over a decade at Tufts Health Plan where she was the Senior Vice President and Corporate General Counsel. She served as Executive Director of the Massachusetts Commission on End of Life Care and has consulted on numerous health care legal and policy issues, including implementation of the landmark Massachusetts health insurance reform legislation and development of MOLST (medical orders for life sustaining treatment). She enjoys the role of a strategic advisor with a demonstrated ability to build coalitions and develop contractual relationships, and to advise on regulatory compliance, health care policy, and governance issues.

At Babson, Ms. Metzger teaches a Healthcare Ecosystem course in the Management Division as part of the Healthcare and Life Sciences concentration for MBA students. She is also teaching a section of the Fast Track core law course.

Ms. Metzger is active in Wellesley Town Government, currently serving as the elected Town Moderator. She has served on and chaired Wellesley’s Advisory (Finance) Committee. She and her husband have two sons. Ms. Metzger has an undergraduate degree from Smith College and a law degree from the National Law Center, George Washington University, where she served on the law review.
