LiveProud, the eco-friendly performance clothing company started by Babson alumni Phil Tepfer and Charles Bogoian, earns recognition by Entrepreneur magazine.

Entrepreneur magazine has named undergraduate Babson alumni business LiveProud to its 100 Brilliant Companies list.

LiveProud is among the companies in the Health category.

About LiveProud

LiveProud, established by 2008 Babson alumni Phil Tepfer and Charles Bogoian, is a collection of sportswear brands focused on creating high quality, innovative performance clothing, all from eco-friendly and recycled materials sourced in North America. The company’s steadfast commitment means energy conservation, CO2 emissions reduction, and diminishing landfill/litter through the production process, every day.

While their work is focused on providing great apparel, they also work to protect the environment and save fragile natural eco-systems and their inhabitants.

LiveProud stands ready for the challenge and dream of its goals – continued stewardship of environmental protection, conservation, and an eco-friendly lifestyle. By purveying the finest clothing to those who understand the “green” lifestyle most of all, they are poised to make a difference – and hope their customers will join in making the world a better place.

Fabric Benefits

While each material has its own specific benefits and advantages, LiveProud brands’ shirts are of the highest quality – wicking sweat and moisture, regulating the evaporative cooling process to keep the wearer cool (or warmer in winter garments), reducing skin friction, inhibiting odor through microbes, and providing a solid 50+ UV protective factor in each of its proprietary blends.

The research and development team is focused on taking all types of environments and conditions into consideration when designing apparel. Whether the wearer is hiking a trail, kayaking down a river, bouldering a quarry, or tacking towards the mark, the LiveProud Group always has them covered.

They are also diving deeper into the recycled world – reclaiming industrial cotton and acrylic waste to turn in to fibers for shirts, as well as repurposing soy, coconut, hemp, bamboo and various other organic substances for new gear. They will continue to churn out new blends and fabrics as final developments are made, expanding product lines to popular and necessary styles.

Environmental Information

LiveProud’s brands have a profound, and measurable, effect on the environment. SailProud’s signature EcoWear Tech Tee, for example, is made of approximately five post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, taken directly from US landfills, then fabricated and constructed in the US as well. Besides reducing the amount of wasted landfill space, repurposing the bottles will prevent the release of more than 5.5 pounds of carbon emissions per shirt, as well as saving enough energy to light a 60-watt lightbulb for 6 hours.
