President Healey participates; new building creates a consolidated district for first-year students in the heart of Babson's campus.
Babson College will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new First-Year Residence Hall and the Schlesinger Innovation Center on Thursday, October 17th at 5 p.m. on the Wellesley Campus. The ceremony will take place between the Park Manor South residence hall and Luksic Hall.
Participating in the ceremony will be President Healey and distinguished guests Babson Board Chairman Joe Winn, President Emeritus Len Schlesinger, Gig Babson, Chair, Wellesley Board of Selectmen and Former Trustee, and Vice President of Facilities/CIO, Sam Dunn.
Through its location and combination of living, learning and outdoor spaces, the new residence hall will become the crossroads of the academic and residential experiences on campus.
The new First Year Residence Hall will transform the residential living experience on campus. This new building, located between the Park Manor residence halls on one side and Luksic Hall and the Blank Center for Entrepreneurship at the other side, will create a consolidated district for first year students in the heart of Babson’s campus.
When constructed, the new residence hall will complete the Park Manor Quad, creating a centralized space for undergraduate students, affording them more opportunities for spontaneous interaction and collaboration in the heart of campus. Its location among other residence halls and academic buildings will strengthen the tight-knit Babson community. The residence hall will feature the Schlesinger Innovation Center, a large, 24-hour living/learning space that can be used as meeting space, classroom space, and student life space.
