    Author and Scholar Faisal Devji (University of Oxford) will offer cutting-edge approaches to the understanding of global Islam, extremism, and radical politics in the world today. As one of the most renowned and captivating thinkers on such subjects, Professor Devji will elaborate on the many complex ideas and tactics that forge these different sides of our contemporary reality. We will see how such rising movements play into the very heart of globalization and the modern age. 


    Faisal Devji is University Reader at the University of Oxford and the author of four books including: Landscapes of the Jihad; The Terrorist in Search of Humanity; The Impossible India, and; Muslim Zion.

    Each year, Babson participants from around the world show off their culinary skills and share a part of their culture at this special event. In 2015, teams will go spoon to spoon for bragging rights of the international kitchen.     Emergent World Thought: Chaotic Space Full Details [X]

    This event brings together a panel of faculty and students to seek out new types of “Chaotic Space.” The most compelling examples of dislocation, exile, migration, urban ruin, and borderlessness taken from unknown parts of our world today. Through a combination of images, storytelling, and experimental philosophy, the presenters will explore subterranean realms and outsider atmospheres like no other. The nowhere, the elsewhere, the unbound.


    Presenters: Professors Una Chung (Sarah Lawrence College), Dejan Lukic (The School of Visual Arts, NYC), Xinghua Li (Babson College), Jason Mohaghegh (Babson College); and Babson students Natalie Reta Aguirre, James Gregory, Monica Quiros, Vladimir Ullmann-Hamon, Rebekah Wade, Alexis Yioulos.
