Education Abroad at Babson College

Studying abroad is an enriching, life-changing experience.

Through Babson’s semester and year-long education abroad programs, students can participate in more than 80 programs on every continent except Antarctica. Students learn about global issues in an academic and cultural context that broadens their perspectives and prepares them to make a difference in an increasingly global community. Living in a different culture challenges students’ assumptions about the world and about themselves, and makes them aware of both the differences and similarities between cultures. Students return to Babson with a new perspective on the world, adding another dimension to Babson’s community culture.

Babson Electives Abroad

Babson Electives Abroad (formally known as Offshore Courses) are short-term courses that combine classroom instruction with company site visits and cultural excursions. Led by Babson faculty, these courses also include in-country lectures given by partner school faculty and distinguished guest speakers. Programs are offered to students during academic breaks in January, March, and May.

Joint Management Consulting Field Experience (JMCFE)

The Joint Management Consulting Field Experience (JMCFE) takes the consulting experience global through project assignments with international corporate sponsors. In the JMCFE program, teams comprised of Babson undergraduate students partner with undergraduate students from an institution outside of the United States (in some instances, the team may be solely Babson students working directly with an international corporate sponsor) to identify a problem and develop a corresponding solution. Projects are conducted during both fall and spring semester for a period of approximately 13-15 weeks. Each project begins with travel to the partner institution and/or company site—during this period, students will begin the engagement process.
