What piece of advice changed your life?
Being Hispanic, of dark color, and a woman puts pressure on your success, because everyone is looking at you as a role model, and you have to make sure you lead well. Without you being aware, people are talking about you, commenting on your accomplishments, and wanting to follow your path. Make sure you travel a challenging but rewarding journey, because that will reflect on those who follow you.
How has being a member of the Babson community impacted your career?
There are two keys to learning for all Babson students: take action and be aware of opportunities. Babson was the perfect door for me to study abroad twice (Italy and Brazil), learn from other cultures, languages, and grow more as an open-minded person able to analyze the world’s myriad of perspectives.
Why does the world need more leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset?
Because we need to change the current rules of the game. We need people to bring value to our lives, think outside the box, and offer what people really need, not what they can afford.
What do others need to know about Babson?
If you are looking for practice and experience, Babson is the best hub. Here, you will not only sit down and read about other businesses, their business models, and their financial statements, you start the journey by making your own business, creating your own model, and controlling your own statements. Babson is about practice, about experiencing at a very young age what CEOs have experienced after years of hard work. Babson is a bridge that links fundamental learning with successful practice.
