What Words Have Changed Your Life?

Entrepreneurship. Before coming to Babson, I was working and rising through the corporate ladder. I actually had thought I would continue in corporate America after graduating from Babson. It wasn’t until I attended Babson that I truly realized my strengths. As a daughter of an entrepreneur, I always knew I wanted to eventually start my own business. I didn’t realize until starting my own company that I could achieve even more in my personal and professional career by starting my own business.

How Do You Want to Change the World?

I believe in taking my life experiences and assisting others to not make the same mistakes along the way. I love helping others around me and giving back to the communities in which I am involved. When individuals from Babson or other networks ask for my help, no matter what it is, I always try to do my best to help with what they may need.

Why Does the World Need More Leaders with an Entrepreneurial Mindset?

I believe that if more leaders were to act and make decisions with a more entrepreneurial mindset, we would see more innovation, more creativity, and more problem solving versus structurally running companies following certain protocols. Thinking outside of the box and encouraging an internal entrepreneurial spirit will motivate employees to work in an environment that is open to and not afraid of change.

What Is Your Proudest Moment in Business?

My two proudest moments in my current endeavors and in my lifetime to date are winning MassChallenge and being honored as a 2015 Rising Star in Babson’s Alumni Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. These are two accomplishments that I will forever reflect back on and cherish.

What Do Others Need to Know about Babson?

Babson’s network is untouched in the entrepreneurial community. As an MBA graduate, I don’t feel as if I have actually graduated. I feel as if I am still a student at Babson, learning from my professors, mentors, and advisers whom I have stayed in touch with since graduation. I speak to them on a daily and weekly basis, whether it’s on the phone, in person on campus, presenting to their classes, or just staying connected over email. It is truly a sense of community, but also a sense of family and friends that support each other. No institution that I am aware of has that kind of support mechanism.

How Do You Define Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship is a way of thinking, a way of acting, a way of reacting, and a way of living your life. It is a lifestyle that is open to change, creativity, and innovation.
