What Words Have Changed Your Life?
I have two quotes that constantly infuse my daily actions: “Integrity is the one thing no one can take from you but you can freely give away,” told to me by former Babson president Bill Glavin while I was in a coffee shop as a freshman. “How do you build an empire? One brick at a time. The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary,” told to me by the father of my Babson roommate, a highly successful family entrepreneur.
How Do You Want to Change the World?
By leveraging my entrepreneurial mindset and approach to add value wherever I can and giving back time, talent, and treasure to the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders.
Why Does the World Need More Leaders with an Entrepreneurial Mindset?
Entrepreneurial leadership is one of the scarcest and most valuable assets across the globe—from startups to Fortune 500 companies to family businesses and nonprofits. All are looking for driven and passionate leaders who challenge the status quo and leverage limited resources to bring new innovations to market and drive growth.
What Is Your Proudest Moment in Business?
Two come top of mind. One is job creation, as that is an important metric of adding value over my (less than 10-year) career thus far. Across my roles in startups and billion-dollar companies, I’ve been able to directly impact the creation of over 50 jobs, some of which placed with Babson alumni! The second is driving the creation of the Summer Venture Program and reframing the Arthur M. Blank Center Entrepreneurial Support Model for students and alumni, driving substantial growth in the number of Babson entrepreneurs that could be supported by the College.
What Do Others Need to Know about Babson?
Babson is a very unique institution and community that creates passionate and driven entrepreneurial leaders who make massive and positive social and economic impact around the world. I am very fortunate to have had the privilege to attend Babson and owe any of my past and future successes to the community and lessons learned at Babson.
How Do You Define Entrepreneurship?
An action-oriented mindset of driving growth and innovation and adding value that can take place in any environment—startup, high-growth company, Fortune 500, nonprofit, or family business.
