Why I Chose Babson
I came to Babson because I wanted to attend a school that would help me become a well-rounded business leader with a global mindset. It didn’t take long for me to realize I had made the right choice—there is no better place to develop an in-depth understanding of the international business environment than here at Babson.
How Babson Has Impacted My Career Development
My professional goal is to be a forensic accountant, eventually becoming a CFO of a private company, and Babson immediately gave me an opportunity to practice my accounting skills through Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship (FME). I was the CFO of my FME business, ChargePal Powercard, a wireless, credit-card-sized phone charger for iPhones and Androids. Participating in my FME business didn’t just confirm my choice of career path—it helped me become a better leader and team player, teaching me to delegate and trust others to complete the job effectively.
How Babson Has Impacted My Career Goals
At the end of the day, regardless of where I’m at in my career, my goal is to be satisfied with what I’m doing. If there is a point that I’m not, I want to be in a good position to pivot. Babson has given me the confidence to address issues and take action in my personal and professional life while preparing me to be a global business leader capable of making a difference in the world.
What Others Need to Know About Babson
I started classes in January 2014 through Babson’s G.A.P. (Grow. Achieve. Prepare.) program, alongside a cohort of 47 students from 19 different countries. The diverse cultures of my new peers led to a desire to further explore countries I previously wouldn’t have imagined visiting through the BRIC program. By participating in BRIC, I had the opportunity to travel to India, Russia, and China to immerse myself in their cultures and expand my global business knowledge.
