Sustainability Tracking, Assessment  & Rating System (STARS)

STARS is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to gauge relative progress toward sustainability.

Babson College is committed to measurable goals and transparency of its environmental impacts and efforts.

In 2010, Babson became a charter participant in the Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS), a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to gauge relative progress toward sustainability. Babson underwent a year-long data collection process for their submission to STARS and earned a Silver Rating in STARS v1.0 in early 2011. You can view Babson’s public 2011 STARS report here.

In 2012, Babson renewed its STARS participation, this time using STARS v1.2. Babson earned a Silver Rating, with a higher numerical score to reflect its sustainability progress. The 2012 report is available here.

Institutions are expected to in the STARS process at least once every three years, meaning that Babson will renew its STARS participation by 2015.
