Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System

Sustainability Tracking Assessment & Rating System (STARS) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to gauge relative progress toward sustainability.

Babson College is committed to measurable goals and transparency of its environmental impacts and efforts.

In 2010, Babson became a charter participant in STARS, a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to gauge relative progress toward sustainability. Babson underwent a year long data collection process for its submission to STARS, and earned a Silver Rating in STARS v1.0 in early 2011. View Babson’s public 2011 STARS report.

In 2012, Babson renewed its STARS participation, this time using STARS v1.2. Babson earned a Silver Rating, with a higher numerical score to reflect its sustainability progress. View Babson’s public 2012 STARS report.

Institutions are expected to participate in the STARS process at least once every three years, meaning that Babson will renew its STARS participation by 2015.
