What Piece of Advice Changed Your Life?
No matter how big or small your business idea is—or any goal for that matter—keep pushing forward in incremental steps to reach the goal. You’ll never succeed if you don’t try, and you don’t need to be fully funded to get a business venture off the ground. This advice taught me how to create a lean startup and bootstrap my way to success. I was able to create a minimum viable product with little money or experience in the industry. Now, my products are being sold consistently online, and they are for sale in stores across the U.S. and in Mexico after just one summer of sales.
How Has Being a Member of the Babson Community Helped Impact Your Career?
Babson’s community is one of the most supportive groups of people that I’ve ever come across. I learned just as much from my classmates as I did from my professors. We all came from different areas of expertise, which makes networking extremely easy for me as an alumnus. Through the Babson community, I can now say that I have friends around the world who are willing to help me with my business in any way that they can, and I would do the same for them.
Why Does the World Need More Leaders with an Entrepreneurial Mindset?
One of the facets of an entrepreneurial mindset that I find most rewarding is our ability to be creative. Having a business mind is great and will get you very far professionally, but if you couple that business mind with a creative mind you get an unstoppable entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs aren’t scared of obstacles or setbacks, they aren’t scared of adverse situations, and they don’t take no for an answer. Instead, they use their creativity to think of a way around the obstacle to reach their goal.
