BABSON ALUMNUS BUSINESS ‘BOTKEEPER’ WINS BOSTINNO TECH MADNESS
Babson College alumni business, botkeeper, is the winner of the prestigious private bracket in BostInno’s Tech Madness competition. Enrico Palmerino ’11, botkeeper founder and CEO, is a serial entrepreneur and winner of the 2017 Babson Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® Challenge in the alumni category for his work with botkeeper.
“This was a huge win for botkeeper and speaks worlds of the following we have been able to build,” says Palmerino. “I owe 100 percent of the credit to the talented team that is botkeeper, because without them none of this would have been possible.”
“More than any one lesson, class or professor, the thing that sticks with me the most from Babson is the idea of challenging the norm and the philosophy of building and creating something meaningful,” says Palmerino. “Babson does an excellent job at not just teaching you entrepreneurial concepts but rather encouraging and pushing you to put the concepts in action and try to start, build, or create something.”
A fast-moving batch of 64 Boston-area startups entered BostInno’s Tech Madness competition in March 2018. The group encompassed a broad range of Boston’s private, venture capital-backed or bootstrapped companies, as well as a separate bracket of 16 publicly traded companies. The contest asked the Boston innovation community to vote for the startups they would invest in.
Other Babson businesses that participated in the competition were:
- indico – co-founded by VP Diana Yuan '15
- TrueFit - founded by Babson alumni Jessica Arredondo Murphy MBA‘06 and Romney Evans MBA’06
- Wanderu – co-founded by CEO Polina Raygorodskaya ‘08
