Community Garden

The Community Garden was started in 2010 and is located between Hollister Hall and Reynolds Campus Center. The Garden is maintained by a group of volunteers, all with different levels of gardening skills, and anyone is welcome to join the Garden Club. Interested in learning more about sustainable food solutions? Food Sol is an action tank for food Entrepreneurship of All Kinds™, a part of the Lewis Institute at Babson.

 

Farmers To You

Farmers To You offers a new way to source local and sustainable food conveniently all year long, with 25 pickup sites in and around Boston – including a pickup site right here at Babson. Each week you place an online order for what you (and your family) want, and it is delivered to campus each Thursday. Farmers To You offers a full range of produce as well as meat, fish, dairy, eggs, dried fruits, nuts, prepared foods, pantry staples, artisan cheeses, bakery-fresh breads and more.
 
Logistics/Details:
  • Pickup is 4:30 p.m. -6 p.m. every Thursday year-round in the Hollister Lot.
  • Minimum order each week is just $20 (and you can suspend any week you don’t need groceries).
  • Large selection of foods, with produce changing by the season.  Food from over 80 New England farms and food producers.
  • Place your order each week by Sunday night and the team at Farmers To You assembles your order and brings it to campus.
 

Eating Locally in the Winter

 

As fall turns into winter, it may seem like options for eating locally and sustainably have disappeared. However, there are many options: winter farmers markets, winter Community Supported Agriculture programs, winter farm stands, and several delivery services that provide sustainable food all year. Check out a guide for sustainable food in the winter here .
