Babson Connect Worldwide, April 21, 2018
At the Babson convening held in Madrid Spain, on a panel moderated by Cheryl Kiser, Executive Director of Babson's Lewis Institute, Carmella Kletjian President and Co-founder of The Kletjian Foundation and Mack Cheney, MD, Executive Director and Co-founder of the Kletjian Foundation discuss why they chose to engage, Babson College, a business school, in their global health philanthropic strategy. Also on the panel was one of the global health activists that they support Dr. Paul Farmer, MD, PhD, Kolokotrones University Professor at Harvard University and Co-founder and Chief Strategist of Partners In Health who spoke at length how entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking can benefit the field of global health. Babson, Olin, and Wellesley Colleges Presented World Health Day, April 3, 2018
Leading up to World Health Day presented by the World Health Organization on April 7th, the Schlesinger Fund for Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship at Babson College, together with Olin and Wellesley Colleges, were delighted to present BOW World Health Day on April 3rd. Bringing together luminaries, thought leaders, and global healthcare entrepreneurs, the event explored how we can come together to address some of the toughest challenges around UN Sustainable Development Goal #3 (good health and well-being for all).

Babson Alumni Breakfast Club with Professor Wiljeana Glover, January 9th, 2018
Professor Glover shared her latest research focuses on innovation in the healthcare industry. With a background studying healthcare delivery systems around the world, Professor Glover's work focuses on global population rise, shrinking healthcare resources, and the ways that innovation—in one of mankind's earliest vocations- can help to bridge the gap. Storytelling in Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship: Mind the Narrative, October 2nd, 2017
The Schlesinger Fund for Global Health Entrepreneurship at Babson College welcomed Emmy Award winning documentary filmmaker Lisa Russell to campus for a screening event of documentary film Heroines of Health (view full documentary here).
After her screening, Lisa ran a storytelling workshop. Lisa is an avid advocate for dignified storytelling. In global health entrepreneurship, there are many stories to be told about the challenges and opportunities to be addressed in resource poor settings. Yet, it is important to mind the narrative.
Dr. Mahmoud Hariri: ET&A in War-torn Syria, April 26th, 2017
The Schlesinger Fund for Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship, Muslim Student Association, Babson Political Association and the Office of the Undergraduate Dean welcomed Dr. Mahmoud Hariri for an insightful discussion on the Syrian crisis with a special focus on healthcare. This talk unpacked the dangerous realities created by the Syrian Civil war and the story of how Dr. Mahmoud Hariri, one of Syria's brave surgeons and a Harvard Scholars at Risk fellow who is addressing patient care in a setting where medical facilities are targets of attack.

Babson Social Innovation Summit April 7-8th, 2017
The Social Innovation Summit is a student run event sponsored by the Lewis Institute for Social Innovation that stimulates entrepreneurial action for sustainable development through effective social innovation. The event connects students with real-world change-makers and corporations seeking to address global challenges. The summit also supports student social entrepreneurs. GHE will hosted a rapid prototyping session on a challenge based on our SQUAD in Uganda: Surgical Quality Assurance Database case led by our case protagonist Dr. Paul Firth himself.

Small Business for Big Impact: Fostering Wellness in our Communities Mar. 15, 2017
Some companies measure their success with a balance sheet. The panelists of Small Business for Big Impact see it differently. For them, success looks like sustainability and social impact, all within the context of health and wellness. The Schlesinger Fund and VitalFit Nutrition (Babson start-up) hosted a substantive panel discussion on the various factors contributing to community and individual wellness featuring Jon and Josh Feinman from InnerCity Weightlifting (Babson Start-up), Caleb Dean and Zach Milligram from Cambridge Naturals, Kathleen Tullie from Reebok, and Cameron Fischer and Alfred Schofield from VitalFit Nutrition themselves as panelists. Help Haiti Hack Health Dec. 5, 2016
The Schlesinger Fund for Global Health Entrepreneurship in partnership with the National Association for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP), and USAID PADF welcomed members of the Babson and greater Boston communities to an event supporting the Diaspora Challenge Initiative. The event included a panel of expert clinicians featuring Dr. Michelle Morse, RN. Nadia Raymond from Partners in Health and Equal Health, Dr. Claire-Cecile Pierre, Dr. Mack Cheney from Mass Eye and Ear and the Kletjian Foundation who know the healthcare system in Haiti intimately. They shared their perspectives and Haitian Diaspora members pitched their ideas for improving the healthcare ecosystem in Haiti. Entrepreneurial Thought and Action®: A Catalyst for Change in Global Health Sep. 29, 2016
The Schlesinger Fund for Global Health Entrepreneurship in collaboration with HUBweek hosted an entrepreneurial innovator showcase that highlighted challenges, barriers, and solutions to accessing and providing safe, equitable healthcare delivery in low and middle income countries. The event featured an interactive pop-up scramble with opportunities for attendees to solve real problems faced by global health start-ups as well as talks from experts from organizations such as Harvard Medical School-Program for Global Surgery and Social Change, MGH-Consortium for Affordable Medical Technologies.
Global Healthcare Entrepreneurship Summit May 7, 2015
This first of its kind one-day event centered around several of the teaching cases developed by Babson College for the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery highlighting the role of entrepreneurship in this growing space. Faculty from Harvard and Babson led participants through case discussions to review best practices for improving access and quality of surgical care worldwide. They discussed how to develop sustainable systems for low-resource countries. Participants also explored further applications for the case series as a tool for training of surgeons and healthcare managers involved in Global Surgery. Women Leading in Healthcare May 10, 2014
Professor Wiljeana Glover moderates a panel of women healthcare leaders that are shaping the field of health care. These women challenge sexism, racism, and homophobia in medical practice and research. Panelists included: Linda Rae Murray, MD, MPH, chief medical officer at the Cook County Department of Public Health: Cook County Health & Hospital System; Roseanna H. Means, MD, a practicing internist in the Boston area and founder of Women of Means, an organization which sends volunteer physicians into shelters to provide care where the women feel safest; and Kristin Mattocks, PhD, MPH, the associate chief of staff for research and education at VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System and an assistant professor of quantitative health sciences and psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
