Living up to the Babson Education?
With only 6 months since graduation, Soniya Agarwal'12 found herself with two start-ups of her own and with the title of "Top50 most innovative student entrepreneurs in the world" by Kairos Society. Whitenife is a social venture, that helps to enforce the ban on Ivory trade, by introducing a patent registered, mineral based composite that is 89% close to real elephant Ivory. The company works under the guidance of Govt of India & leading animal welfare organizations. Whitenife allows its customers, that include refined artists & designers, to not only express their concern & awareness towards elephant poaching, but also do so with taste & elegance. With Whitenife, Soniya not only helps to promote the ban of Ivory, help protect elephant habitats but also provide legal employment to several artisan communities in India. Her other venture, Freshmentors, is of no less of a Nobel cause. In collaboration with students from Stanford University, IIT-Kanpur, she founded a web-portal that allows students, counselors, schools & other education entities, to interact with mentors from reputed universities across the world; to seek personalized advice on their college application. Recently, Freshmentors has entered into an alliance with Princeton Review partners in India. She strongly believes that it her education and the experiences she allowed her to experience that has shaped her into the person she is today; and hence is adamant to help make students take better decisions Today, she continues to stride along, like a proud Babson College graduate!
