Weekend Schedule and Registration

Where can I find a schedule for the weekend and what should I attend?

What’s new this year?

  • We have added an expanded Friday evening schedule, including reunion and affinity receptions, a comedian, and Midnight Breakfast in Trim. Saturday includes additional kids activities, a gourmet culinary experience at the Tent, and a more customized class reunion party experience on Saturday evening.
  • Join us on Sunday for Jazz Brunch in Trim and a Memorial Service in Glavin Chapel before heading home.

How do I know if it’s my reunion year?

Classes with graduation years ending in 4 or 9 are celebrating reunions this year.

Accommodations

I’m coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

  • Rooms are available at the Babson Executive Conference Center on campus for a rate of $152/night. Many of the weekend’s events take place in and around the conference center. Reserve your room online, or call 781-239-4000 and mention Babson reunion and homecoming weekend.
  • A block of rooms also is  being held at Hotel Indigo in Newton for a rate of $155/night. Call 617-969-5300 to reserve your room and mention Babson College Reunion to receive the discounted rate. Reservations must be made by August 18, 2014.

Transportation

How will I get from one place to another on campus if it’s raining or I have a difficult time walking long distances?

  • Trolleys will run on campus throughout the day and evening on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Half Century guests have their own trolley transportation for their Friday activities.
  • Golf carts driven by staff volunteers also will be available.
  • Most of the weekend’s events will take place at BECC and the Upper Fields, making for an easy walk from one activity to the next.

My class reunion party is taking place off campus, but I’m staying at the BECC. How will I get there?

Alumni who are traveling off campus for class parties will need to arrange for their own transportation.

Event Pricing

How much does it cost to attend reunion or homecoming?

  • Reunion / We recommend taking advantage of the reunion weekend package, a huge savings at $150 for one alumni and a complimentary guest. The package provides entrance into all reunion weekend activities and is available through online registration opening June 2.
  • Homecoming / Prices are listed next to each activity in registration, if applicable.
  • Half Century / All weekend events are complimentary for Half Century alumni and their guest on behalf of Babson College.

Affinity and Milestone Reception

Which affinities are having receptions on Friday evening and what are they celebrating?

  • Men's Swimming & Diving (55th Anniversary)
  • Women’s Athletics & Women's Basketball (40th Anniversary)
  • Men's Rugby (35th Anniversary)

Children and Families

I am bringing my children, but am attending Friday and Saturday evening receptions. Where should my kids go?

  • Complimentary childcare is provided for children ages 3–12 on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:30–11 p.m. The service is contracted through SeekingSitters and will be located at the Babson Executive Conference Center.
  • An information form and waiver MUST be signed for child to participate. Forms will be emailed to registrants prior to the weekend.
  • Pre-registration is required for childcare as a child/caregiver ratio must be maintained.

I have a child under 3. Can I send him/her to childcare?

Due to the limitations of the space, equipment, and legal requirements for child/caregiver ratios, we are not able to provide childcare for children under 3 years of age.

What activities are kid friendly? 

  • Friday:
    • 6:30–11:30 p.m. : Childcare for children ages 3–12 at the Babson Executive Conference Center provided by SeekingSitters. Includes activities, games, pizza, movies, and more. Pre-registration is required. 
  • Saturday:
    • 11 a.m.–1 p.m. / Kids College offers 4 sessions of creative learning opportunities just for kids ages 3–15.  Activities include customizing Lego robots and competing to win fun prizes, Babson Sports Camps and Athletics, a one of a kind entrepreneurial experience with staff from the Blank Center for Entrepreneurship, and creating magical masks with BabsonArts. 
    • 12:30–3:30 p.m. / The Tent on the upper fields includes a rock wall, bouncy house, bucking baby bull, pumpkin painting, face painting, a balloon artist,  a visit from Wally the Green Monster and special food just for kids! This is a family-favorite activity for the weekend and is great for kids of all ages. All children must be accompanied by an adult to this event.
    • 6:30–11:30 p.m. / Childcare for children ages 3–12 at BECC provided by SeekingSitters. Includes activities, games, pizza, movies, and more. Pre-registration is required.  

Can I bring my children to the comedian on Friday night?

As with all comedic performances, content and language may not be appropriate for all ages.  You may view Comedian Bob Marley's site for samples of his content.  Please use your best discretion when bringing guests.  For those ages 3–12, please consider taking advantage of complimentary childcare at BECC on Friday evening. Pre-registration is required.

How do I know if my class is having a reunion and where the party will be located?

Half Century

Who is considered a Half Century alum?

Members of the classes of ‘64 and earlier.

What events do the Half Century alumni attend?

How do I register? 

Half Century alumni are welcome to register online or by calling the Events Management Office at 781-239-5265.

How do I know who else is coming from my class?

Once registration is underway, registration lists for the Saturday evening events—Class of ’64 reunion party and the Half Century Dinner—will be posted on the Half Century page. Those who have indicated they do not wish to have their name published will not appear on these lists.

Who can attend the Half Century luncheon?

Members of the classes of ’64 and earlier and their guests.

Are Half Century alumni invited to the Leadership Awards Brunch?

Yes. This is a fantastic event that recognizes individuals for their commitment to the Babson alumni community. We hope you will join us in this celebration on Saturday morning. Please RSVP online or by phone.

Where does the Trolley go for Friday’s Half Century activities?

The trolley will pick you up at Alumni Hall during Half Century check-in. It then continues on to lunch at the President’s House, picks you up after lunch, and takes you back to campus for the afternoon campus visit. At the conclusion of the afternoon activities, it will bring you back to BECC as well as any parking lot on campus where you may have left your vehicle.

What events do Half Century attendees have to pay for?

All weekend events are complimentary for Half Century alumni and their guest on behalf of Babson College.

Graduate Alumni

Is there a reunion for Graduate Alumni?

In addition to homecoming festivities, this year we will have two special evenings dedicated to all graduate alumni. A dinner will be held in San Francisco on September 11 and in Boston on September 18.  Registration for these dinners is through the main Homecoming & Reunion registration link.
