Alumni College Session: Back to the Classroom

Building on a recent Babson tradition, alumni will have an opportunity to hear advice and words of wisdom from some of Babson’s best faculty members, Anirudh Dhebar, Nan Langowitz, and Kevin Mulvaney. Dean of Faculty Carolyn Hotchkiss will serve as the emcee for this session. This event is modeled on The Last Lecture Series created by the Graduate Student Council Class of 2009.
Anirudh Dhebar, Professor of Marketing
A Few Shells
Before your time at Babson, while at Babson, and in your professional and personal lives after Babson, you have been busy learning. But, what is true learning? It is not about accumulating every shell you encounter, though, at first blush, so many shells look attractive and a must have. It is about being intentional and discerning so we embrace, nourish, and treasure the one, two, or three shells that really matter, and wash them with open space and time so their significance truly sets them apart from the rest. Arguably, this—being selective—is the harder learning. What are your few shells? What should they be if you want to best prepare yourself to thrive in tomorrow's world?
Nan Langowitz, Professor of Management
Balancing Acts Every Leader Needs to Navigate
Professor Nan Langowitz has been studying, practicing, and teaching leadership throughout her career. In this session, she’ll share her insights on the core balancing acts that help leaders achieve success and satisfaction. She’ll reflect on what she has learned along the way, both from her career as well as those of others.
Kevin Mulvaney, Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship
A Reflection on Three Careers
You never know how your career will evolve. In today’s ever-changing environment, everyone must be prepared for twists and turns as your post-Babson years unfold. Senior Lecturer Kevin Mulvaney will take you through a humorous reflection on his three-career journey after Babson.
