Howard Brown '88
I would greatly appreciate your consideration, and vote for Board President of the BAA . We need to engage the 37,000+ Babson alumni in a new communications and outreach paradigm to advance information flow, participation, volunteerism and giving. We can build a committed and enthusiastic, network of alums around the world by leveraging technology, communication, and alumni goodwill. I have a successful track record within the technology marketplace. I am a serial entrepreneur with IPO experience. One of my biggest assets is team building, goal setting and achievement. I am currently the Cofounder & CEO of CircleBuilder.com. I believe that my expertise in social media, community building and online outreach / communications will be a huge asset as we need to engage the Babson worldwide alumni base. After graduation I represented Babson at college fairs. Also, I took a leadership role in the San Francisco / Silicon Valley local alumni club (Technology Affinity Group). Over the last six years I have served on the Babson Alumni Association Board of Directors with specific roles and active participation on the communications and bylaws committees and as the Digital Babson liaison. I chaired the Class of 1988 Back to Babson alumni committee to exceptional attendance and giving levels. I know that it is critical that we need find the right "touch points" to allow our alumni get a "sweet taste of Babson" as often as possible. I live in Michigan so I represent a very large number of Babson alumni remotely connected to the college.

Sharlene Sones '86
Sharlene is in the midst of serving a second term with the BAA, where she’s been involved in initiatives to reconnect unengaged alumni. A resident of Pennsylvania, she’s also been spearheading alumni gatherings in the Philadelphia region.
Sharlene is a brand strategist who has helped strengthen many well-known global brands including Benetton Sportsystem, Spalding Sports, Forefront Records, University of Pennsylvania and the LPGA. The author of Storyworks. How Brand Stories Can Advance Your Business, Cause and Career, she founded Brandstoria, a brand consultancy based on her unique approach for finding and communicating value. She’s also the VP of marketing for SYNQY.com, a start-up led by another Babson classmate.
She got involved with the BAA in recent years in response to a personal desire to find ways to reconnect with the College, despite living far from campus. While she now makes frequent trips to Babson for BAA meetings as well as the Coaching for Leadership & Teamwork program, she believes that the strength of the network — and the value alumni can bring to each other and students — is an important connection that can be strengthened, even for those who haven’t been engaged with the College for years.
