Asia Pacific Initiatives

The Babson Global Asia Pacific Initiatives mission is to influence the management practices in private companies throughout Asia.

Now more than ever, the world needs entrepreneurs of all kinds who think and act entrepreneurially—who can transform opportunity into reality, and create social and economic value for themselves and for others. Over the last two decades, Asian firms have gone through stages characterized by long periods of relative calm followed by short periods of turbulence when some form of more radical change was needed to refocus effort. Long periods of extensive government support, plentiful funding, bountiful exports to hungry markets in the west and relative stability made it possible for Asian firms to set the rules of the game, rules they had essentially devised. But today the situation has largely been reversed due to several developments emergent over the past 5 years. Worldwide financial turmoil led to several European economies struggling, slower growth of consumption in the U.S. alongside strong competition from firms in other developing countries leads to a world facing Asian businesses that will be increasingly complex and uncertain.

Through a series of events, programs and educational partnerships, the Babson Global Asia Pacific Initiatives focus to establish long-term relationships throughout the region.
