Build Operate Transfer Sustain

Babson assists in the creation and operation of all aspects of brand new institutions with a focus on entrepreneurship.

Babson’s “Build, Operate, Transfer and Sustain” (BOTS) is designed to assist educational institutions who wish to build brand new business schools with a focus on entrepreneurship or new degree programs and entrepreneurship centers within existing institutions around the world.  Babson helps these green field schools or centers build their curricula, obtain initial accreditation, recruit and train their faculty, design facilities, develop a technology plan, etc.  During the initial years, Babson provides operational support to ensure that both academic and support services are operating per international accreditation standards.  When the local staff and faculty are in place and have control, Babson transfers full control to the local partner.  However, to sustain the high quality of these institutions and programs over time, Babson continues to provide long-term consulting support to the partner institution through Babson created Global Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education (GCEE).

Babson has several BOTS initiatives in the pipeline, including projects in Mexico, Indonesia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These projects vary in scope and complexity. The initiatives allow Babson to extend Babson’s global reach, provide an unprecedented opportunity for intercultural exchange, and use these opportunities to innovate new ideas that ultimately come to benefitting Babson’s faculty, staff, and students as well as those of partner institutions.
