Ken Emery is recognized as a skilled senior executive with strong strategic planning and change management experience in diverse industries. He has effectively leveraged IT to enable organizational growth, change, and profitability, and has had responsibility for a purchasing department with $1 billion in annual expenditures for goods and services. Ken has sourced services directly for IS & Technology, Telecommunications, Facilities, Environmental Services, Fleet, Security, and Logistics.
 
Most recently, he was Senior Vice President of Information Management & Shared Services for the largest municipally-owned utility in the United States. At CPS Energy he had responsibility for IS & Technology, Purchasing, Fleet & Facilities, Security, Process Improvement, and Strategic Planning. In this role, Emery led a management team to develop a strategic plan for the entire company, designed and implemented a corporate-wide process improvement program, and sponsored a management-coaching program.
 
Ken began his career in information systems at USAA, one of the largest multi-line insurance companies in the U.S. After advancing through several positions, he was recruited to join a team of professionals, which led to the start up of a new subsidiary of Equitable Life Insurance with Ken as Assistant Vice President of Management and Information Systems. Subsequently, he joined American General as VP of Information Systems & Technology for VALIC, building a new division from the ground up. During his tenure, the company grew to be the 16th largest insurance company in the United States and Ken advanced to Senior VP of Systems, developing the business plan to provide a laptop to every account representative in VALIC's sales force, a first in the insurance industry.
 
Emery earned a B.A. degree in Mathematics at the University of Texas in Austin, completed the Harvard Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives, and participated in the Concours Executive Development Programs for Chief Information Officers.
