“Babson’s entrepreneurial spirit is what makes them unique and why we expose our executives and our good-to-best leaders to the Babson environment. It’s not something that you can get out of a book. Babson’s culture and approach instills a desire and a dedication to do something that no one else is doing.”
Taco Inc., headquartered in Cranston, Rhode Island, develops and manufactures hydronic-based components for use in heating and cooling applications across the building spectrum—residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional. The company was established in 1920 and has been continually owned and operated by the same family throughout its history. Today, the company employs about 500 people and has annual sales in excess of $150 million. Taco is committed to leading the HVAC industry through quality products and technological innovation.
Taco works with Babson Executive Education to help deliver upon this commitment. Babson has designed and delivered customized programs focused on innovation and strategy for the company’s executive team, and senior leaders also have participated in Babson open enrollment programs, including Coaching Inside the Organization and Family Entrepreneurship. Taco also enlisted Babson to write a case study on the company and some strategic challenges that they overcame.
Taco continues to expand upon its commitment to education and organizational excellence and recently opened a new LEED-certified, 24,000-square-foot Innovation and Development Center at the company’s headquarters.
