As many of you know, The Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship Education (The Collaborative) was launched in early 2016 as a membership organization for institutions seeking to increase their capability and capacity in entrepreneurship education. The Collaborative connects and convenes institutions that aspire to build and grow entrepreneurship education programs for a better world, and members share a belief that our institutions acting together will achieve more than each working alone.
Membership in The Collaborative comprises institutions from around the world at various stages in their journey, from those just emerging in the entrepreneurship education space to established programs seeking guidance and networking opportunities to further develop their own world-class programs. All, like Babson, believe in educating entrepreneurs of all kinds who think and act entrepreneurially—who transform opportunity into reality, and create social and economic value everywhere.
The Collaborative encourages members to engage in activities in order to achieve depth and breadth in entrepreneurship education. Members earn points by taking action in any of five categories: Faculty and Development, Affiliation and Networking, Strengthening Intellectual Vitality, Student Engagement, and Growing Entrepreneurial Commitment, and they can progress to silver, gold, or platinum status as they accrue points.

One of the benefits of membership in The Collaborative is participation at an annual summit, at which members from around the world have an opportunity to network face to face, exchange ideas, and share perspectives on teaching entrepreneurship. This year, the summit was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 23–26. The first day was for members only, followed by Babson Connect: Worldwide, a global two-day convocation of educators, entrepreneurs, and leaders exchanging ideas and insights and celebrating the power of entrepreneurship.
As of March 1, 2017, there are 16 members of The Collaborative, and a significant pipeline of potential new members. If you have an interest in becoming a member, we encourage you to visit
The Collaborative website and contact Director Tom Simon. In addition to events such as the summit, members have access to a members-only portal through which they can share and access best practices, cases, syllabi, and other member-created materials. Additionally, The Collaborative offers a monthly blog, quarterly webcasts, and keeps members up to date with general member news items.
