Ed Barrows is an independent management researcher and consultant. At Babson, he lectures in a number of management areas. He is an expert in performance measurement, performance management systems, and strategic management processes.
Most of his experience is in professional services. He began his advisory career at Deloitte where he worked as an In-Charge Accountant. Subsequently he worked as a Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers focusing on process improvement and strategic management. He then worked as a Vice President at the Palladium Group where he led the executive education group. He also held internal posts at GE Capital and Inc. Magazine. He currently works with the Service Profit Chain Institute and leads the Palladium Group’s Balanced Scorecard Certification Boot Camp series.
Ed has worked with numerous private and public sector clients including Alcon Labs, AstraZeneca, AT&T, Boeing, BP, FBI, FujiFilm, Lundbeck, Hershey, Husky, Ricoh, State Farm Insurance, SunTrust Bank, U.S. Department of Commerce, and U.S. Navy. Prior to the start of his professional career he served on active duty as a Marine Officer retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of service in both the active and reserve components.
