Rucha Bhate is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Economics at Boston College. Her primary research interests are macroeconomics and international economics. Her current research revolves around the economics of emerging and developing countries; specifically understanding the linkage between financial development and patterns of capital flows across the developing countries and also studying key business cycle properties of the Indian economy. Rucha is also a graduate research assistant at the Sloan Center on Aging and Work at Boston College, where she works on the impact of age and key economic factors on cross country work outcomes such as job satisfaction. Prior to joining the graduate program at Boston College, Rucha worked as a research assistant at the Indian institute of management, Ahmedabad; a premier business school in India. She was also a part of the Corporate Economics Cell at the Aditya Birla Group, a leading business conglomerate in India. Rucha received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Honors) from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and a Master’s degree from Gokhale Institute of Economics and Politics, Pune.
