Professor Johnston was Executive-in-Residence at Babson in 1990, and was a Price-Babson Fellow in 1990.

Professor Johnston was formerly president of Fenwal Inc. of Ashland, MA, manufacturers of industrial temperature controls and fire protection systems. He was also responsible for Fenwal Controls of Japan and Fire Control Instruments of Newton, MA. Combined sales of these companies were $180 million. Prior to his 25 years with Fenwal, Mr. Johnston spent 5 years with Westinghouse in technical sales.

He is the former director of Fenwal Controls of Japan, Tokyo, Japan; Fukada-Kidde, Tokyo, Japan; Fire Control Instruments, Newton, MA; Metro-West Chamber of Commerce, Framingham, MA.

Mr. Johnston's primary interest is in planning and implementing growth for technical product design and manufacturing firms through new product development, strategic alliances and acquisitions.
