Marieta Joyner

Lecturer in History

 
Dr. Joyner has taught at UMass Boston and Amherst, Roxbury Community College and Brandeis University.  She teaches African American History and Ethnic Studies courses.

She is a member of American History International and the American Historical Association.  She was a 2005 Honorable Mention by the Ford Foundation in Washington DC's National Academies on Science, Engineering and Medicine and is currently working on a book about the education of Deaf African Americans after the Civil War to the 1954 historic Brown v Board of Education case.  She is an avid reader and loves putting together complicated jigsaw puzzles.
