Yoo-Taek Lee

Assistant Professor of Technology and Operations Management

 

Yoo-Taek Lee is an assistant professor in the Technology, Operations and Information Management Division at Babson College. He teaches in the MBA and undergraduate program. Prior to joining Babson, Professor Lee taught courses to M.B.A. and undergraduate students on operations management, supply chain management, statistics, and international management at Hult International Business School (formerly Arthur D. Little School of Management), Northeastern University, Boston University, and Emmanuel College.

Professor Lee’s research interests include global supply chain management, web-based supply chain management applications, supplier development strategy, and industrial upgrading. His current work investigates development strategies of small and medium-sized suppliers in global supply chains and complementary resources to the implementation of web-based applications in managing supply chains. He also has research interests in the industrial upgrading at the firm level that focuses on how small and medium-sized enterprises sustain their competitiveness in global supply chains.

Prior to his D.B.A. studies, Professor Lee worked at Samsung in Korea. His work experience also includes a research associate appointment at Boston University Asian Management Center and the development and management of executive education programs for Asian companies such as Sanyo, Samsung, LG, Daewoo, SK, and for non-profit organizations including the Federation of Korean Industries and Ministry of Commerce in China. Additionally, he has produced more than 65 company best practice reports of Motorola, IBM, Texas Instruments, GE, Federal Express, Intel, Sun Microsystems, and Toyota.
