Since 1995, Bryan Manning has been a part-time lecturer in the Marketing Division, teaching Marketing Systems, Marketing Communications Strategy, Marketing Strategy and High Tech Marketing. He also teaches International Entrepreneurship at the BU Graduate School of Management. He earned his BA in French and Business at the University of Massachusetts in 1975 with his Junior year spent at the Sorbonne in Paris. In 1976 he received his MBA from the Garvin School of International Management (Thunderbird) where he concentrated in marketing. He speaks English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.
Professor Manning brings 27 years of high-level global marketing and sales strategy experience to the classroom with in-depth industry knowledge in the Sensors and Controls, Aerospace, Automotive and Industrial Controls industries. As an entrepreneur running his own Marketing and Sales Strategy consultancy he is constantly exposed to the real-time issues facing business-to-business entrepreneurs. Prior to going independent, Professor Manning worked in industry for such companies as Texas Instruments, Hawker Siddeley Sensors and Controls Division (now Honeywell Sensors), and Esterline Technologies. He has held positions ranging from European Sales Manager and Vice President of Sales and Marketing to Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Division President.
Professor Manning is currently the President of B&D International LLC, a company that helps technical companies with their sales and marketing strategies, with a concentration on increasing their EU/European sales.
Professor Manning is active in the Thunderbird Alumni Association, The Electronics Representatives Association, and The German Sensor Association and is on the editorial board of Sensors Magazine.
