Tim Marken

Adjunct Lecturer

 
Mr. Marken is Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner at Altus Marketing and Management. Amm is a full service marketing and events agency.
 
Prior to joining amm, Tim was a senior advisor at the Fenway Sports Group working with clients on marketing and business development strategy. Among his accomplishments was leading the Fenway Sports Group’s acquisition of the Salem Avalanche, a single A affiliate in the Carolina League.
 
Tim has also worked as EVP of Sales and Client Services at Marquis Jet, where he led and built the sales and client management organization. Through his sales leadership, Marquis Jet revenues grew from $135M to $495M in just four years. Prior to this success, Tim spent nine years as a senior executive at Gartner Group. From 1992 to 1995, he led US Sales and Operations where he grew sales from $70M to $275M, while managing over 300 people and exceeding his annual profit targets. From 1995 to 2000, Tim led Gartner Group’s mergers and acquisition team where they acquired over 25 companies in 10 different countries. During his tenure at Gartner Group, revenues rose from $70m to $750m.
 
After graduation, Tim joined the Xerox Corporation where he held numerous sales and sales management positions where his year end results had him tops in performance in the country.
 
Tim holds a B.S. in finance and economics from Babson College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. At Babson, he was the recipient of The George Macy Wheeler Memorial Award and was a four year member of the Varsity Soccer team which won the 1979 and 1980 NCAA Division III Soccer Championship.
 
In addition, Tim is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at Babson where he teaches in the entrepreneurship and marketing divisions and also serves on the Babson College Board of Overseers. He has completed the Boston Marathon 11 times and in enshrined into the Falmouth High School Hall of Fame.
