Amit Mukherjee

Visiting Lecturer

 

In addition to teaching, Amit is researching the effective leadership of companies with globally distributed markets and key partnerships for his next book. His prior book in this topical area, The Spider’s Strategy, was named “One of the 30 Best Business Books of 2009” by Soundview Executive Book Summaries. Articles by him or about his work have appeared in journals like Business Digest, Chief Learning Officer, Harvard Business Review, Leader to Leader, and Management Science.

Since 2004, Amit has led Ishan Advisors, an executive education and strategy consulting company he co-founded. He teaches programs on strategy, innovation and organizational effectiveness and helps senior executives address these challenges. His clients often rank among the Global 1000.

He was a Vice President and Strategy Advisor at Forrester Research, where he started and led an IT strategy consulting group. Earlier, he was the Chief Technology & Strategy Officer of TurboChef Technologies, a public high-tech durable appliances company. At Arthur D. Little, where he was elected Director, he helped build a global business based on his doctoral research. In these roles, he assisted CEOs/Boards craft strategy; led multi-organization, next generation product development; and helped reinvigorate moribund operations. Moreover, he worked in industries ranging from software to industrial goods.

Amit was Visiting Assistant Professor at INSEAD and Georgetown. He earned his DBA from the Harvard Business School, MBA from the Darden School/University of Virginia, and BE (Honors) from BITS (India).
