Dr. Kankana Mukherjee teaches Industrial Organization and Money and Banking at the undergraduate level and graduate courses in Economics of Strategy and Customers, Markets, and Marketing. Before coming to Babson, she has taught at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, University of Connecticut, and Clarkson University.
Dr. Mukherjee’s principal research interest is in the area of productivity and efficiency analysis. Her research is empirical in nature and utilizes Data Envelopment Analysis, econometrics, and statistics. She has applied her research to several industries including the banking industry, manufacturing sector, health care industry, and energy. Her research has been published in several leading economics and operations research journals such as the Economic Journal, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Productivity Analysis, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Manchester School, Medical Care Research and Review, Journal of Quantitative Economics, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Journal of Risk and Insurance, Health Care Management Science, and Indian Economic Review, among others.
