Fashion Entrepreneurial Initiative

Design defines values.

We provide a forum for entrepreneurial innovators to shape the fashion industry.

Courses and Co-Curricular Programs

We offer Entrepreneurship in Fashion courses in Wellesley and London and co-curricular programs via the John E. and Alice L. Butler Launch Pad and the Weissman Foundry that explore new business models. We collaborate with The Institute for Social Innovation in fashion and create action agendas for fashion and the environment.

Student, Alumni, and Community Events

Events bring together leaders and innovators of the fashion industry including current undergraduate and graduate students from Babson, Olin, & Wellesley Colleges, executive education participants, alumni, and corporate leaders. We host four annual events: Fashion Table Discussion, Future of Fashion Panel, Fashion & Environment Focus, and Babson/Olin/Wellesley Fashion Challenge.

Opportunities

We build connections through our network to advance innovation in the fashion industry throughout the value chain and the ecosystem. Fashion Disruption 2030 is an action research program led by Professor Caroline Daniels that combines student, alumni, educational institution, and corporate efforts to provide thought leadership and collaboration on the Future of Fashion.

FASHION ENTREPRENEURSHIP OF ALL KINDS®

How We Work

  • Forums: We gather stakeholders to share thoughts and experiences throughout the fashion value chain.
  • Projects: We build cross-disciplinary projects to address fashion innovation.
  • Thought Leadership: We synthesize knowledge from stakeholders and members of the fashion industry to build insights.
  • Events: We invite innovators to share experiences to enrich best practices throughout the fashion industry.

Why Fashion at Babson?

As the leader in Entrepreneurial Thought and Action®, Babson teaches future leaders how to convert complex challenges into opportunities for social, environmental, and economic value creation simultaneously—not sequentially. The fashion industry faces unprecedented challenges with respect to the environment and work practices. Effective change requires industry-wide collaboration and the sharing of mutual objectives throughout the fashion business system.

Where Are the Entrepreneurial Opportunities?

Innovating throughout the fashion industry requires an entrepreneurial mindset.  Babson College has a unique approach to solving complex problems and building entrepreneurial opportunities to meet changing world needs. We believe there are changes to the way decisions can be made at every stage of the fashion value chain that can benefit the fashion industry and the world.
