Global Management Program

Global Management ProgramThe Global Management Program (GMP) is an opportunity for MBA students to gain international work experience and earn academic credit while working on challenging assignments.  Past projects have been in such areas as finance, logistics, marketing, management information systems, supply chain management, as well as other business disciplines.  GMP participants present results and recommendations to the management of a sponsor company. Sponsor companies obtain valuable consulting services and gain objective data. Babson MBA students broaden their professional experience, gain practical experience in working and living in another country, improve their foreign language abilities, and practice their global management skills.

The GMP provides Babson students with the opportunity to gain practical work experience while also requiring an academic component that is an integral part of the program.  The essential components of the GMP include finding an internship, designing an academic deliverable focused on the student’s educational interests, and completing applicable immigration requirements.

Once an internship is secured students work through the Graduate Office of Experiential Learning to meet the academic requirements. These requirements include an academic advisor and defined deliverables. In conjunction with their advisor students can choose to have either a 0.5 or 3.0 credit course. The course is a pass or fail grade.  A GMP can occur during any academic term.
