Fast Track Program

Favorable to those seeking a part-time MBA that allows for increased flexibility through a blend of web-based and face to face sessions.

1column_sarah.pngThe Babson MBA via the Fast Track Program provides the opportunity to earn an MBA as you continue to excel in your professional career, by leveraging a blend of web-based learning, face to face sessions and virtual collaboration. Students are organized by cohorts enabling ongoing feedback and participation for immediate impact into coursework as well as professional work throughout the duration of the program.

Where can I participate in the Fast Track Program?

The Fast Track program is offered through the Babson campuses in San Francisco and Wellesley. Due to the flexible structure of the program, cohorts include students who travel from surrounding areas, even several hours away. The application process, curriculum, and program services are the same — Babson faculty travel to the West Coast to conduct their face to face sessions at the San Francisco campus.

What does the program structure look like?

Cohorts start in March and September. The program begins with an intensive five-day (1 credit) session at the Wellesley campus which introduces students to the program structure and curriculum, to faculty and staff, and to each other. The class begins working in teams through a series of exercises, including a dynamic business simulation which incorporates key concepts and skills they will build upon in the months ahead.

  • Online Learning: accounts for an average of 20 hours per week, which reflects readings, case preparation, contributing to asynchronous and real-time discussions, and active participation in team-based exercises and projects. The web-based elements are delivered via state-of-the-art distance learning tools.
  • Face to Face Sessions: The cohort comes together for a total of 14 face-to-face classroom sessions; approximately every seven weeks for 2 1/2 days (Thursday afternoon – Saturday).
  • Electives: are satisfied in two sets, two electives per set, seven weeks per set. Students have the flexibility to choose from a subset of courses in the Elective Curriculum, Babson Executive Education courses, as well as Independent Research projects and Management Consulting Field Experiences (MCFE) to fulfill their elective credit requirement.
  • Capstone: Students form teams and develop a business plan based either on a project identified within their companies or a “greenfield” project.

For a sample schedule of the program, review the Fall 2012 calendars for Wellesley and San Francisco.
