A Team Effort
At Babson, Andy Mandell ’61 learned that success in business and in life requires a team effort.
While attending the College, he met influential teachers and made lifelong friends. “I will forever be grateful to Babson,” says Mandell. “It introduced me to amazing people, gave me my start in business, and helped point me and my family down the path to success.”
To show gratitude for his education and honor his 50th reunion, Mandell and his family recently made a significant commitment to the College. The gift was a family decision and one that played a critical role in helping the Babson Rising campaign achieve its fundraising goal. The residence hall on Map Hill Drive has been named Mandell Family Hall in their honor.
Every day Mandell lives the lessons he learned at Babson. People are at the heart of Data-Mail Inc., a full-service print and mail-processing company that he and his wife, Joyce, started in 1971. Several members of his family are involved in running the business, and Data-Mail’s 850 employees serve clients from Fortune 500 companies and major advertising agencies.
Mandell hopes his family’s gift will enrich the Babson experience for students and teach them the importance of teamwork in achieving success.
