Babson College has announced the official re-opening of Roger's Pub as  Roger’s Pub & Grille in its brand new location adjacent to Trim Dining Hall.

In June 2015, the Babson community joined Sodexo and long-time Pub staff, Patti Baptiste and Doug Titcomb, to say goodbye to the original Roger’s Pub as it prepared to move from Park Manor Central. Together, they rang the original ‘last-call bell’ one last time, and participated in an exciting live auction for pub memorabilia.

In its planning stages, the Babson community was given the opportunity to vote for the design and style of the new space. Options ranged from industrial with handmade accents, to warm and dark with faux taxidermy. An urban chic design was ultimately selected, featuring a host of rich finishes.

The new pub boasts a traditional bar with dark wood accents, a detailed tin ceiling, and eye-catching lighting fixtures. The space also includes an octagon room with additional seating and a game room with warm, wood paneling. In addition, Roger’s Pub now hosts the new ‘Grille Room’, featuring an industrial style of its own with exposed ceilings, textured glass details on two of the walls, and a stage for entertainment.

“We’re excited to introduce students and the campus community to the new Roger’s Pub and Grille,” said Babson College Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Lawrence P. Ward. “The new pub and grille room represents our continued investment in the quality of the student experience at Babson, and I look forward to seeing how our students will find fun, creative, and lasting ways to make it feel lived in and build community.”

Seniors were the first to celebrate the pub’s grand opening at an exclusive event on January 17. They enjoyed free food, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and joined in the excitement surrounding the start of their final semester at Babson.

Babson’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be hosting celebratory activities at Roger’s Pub throughout the week. The community can also look forward to new programming, such as a Super Bowl pub party and performances organized by BabsonARTS - this all in addition to continued Roger’s Pub traditions beloved by Babson alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends, and family.

About Roger’s Pub

Babson College’s first on-campus bar, the Beaver Brau, was opened in 1974 in the basement of Coleman Hall, giving students, faculty, and staff a relaxed and fun environment to gather as a community for movie nights, auctions, music, and camaraderie. Roger’s Pub, as it is known today, opened on September 26, 1988 in the basement of Park Manor Central. As part of exciting recent campus developments and transformations, the decision was made to move Roger’s Pub from the Park Manor Quad to an added, modern space alongside Trim Dining Hall during the 2015-2016 academic year.
