Babson College, the recognized world leader in entrepreneurship education, and ILUMNO, a technology company specialized in higher education in Latin America, have announced the launch of three online entrepreneurship certificate programs, to be delivered in Spanish and Portuguese. The programs will become available in March 2018 across Latin America and are non-credit bearing.

“At Babson College, we are on a mission to make entrepreneurship education accessible to everyone, everywhere,” said Babson College President Kerry Healey. “An impressive 27 percent of Babson’s international alumni come from Latin America, making up a vibrant local network of more than 1,200 Babson community members. Thanks to our collaboration with ILUMNO, we will now have the opportunity to impact that many more entrepreneurial-minded people within the region in a new and creative way.”

“It is an honor for ILUMNO to work with Babson College, one of the best entrepreneurship institutions in the U.S.,” said Pete Pizarro, ILUMNO CEO and Chairman. “A great deal of students in the Ilumno network become entrepreneurs after graduation, and this is the reality throughout Latin America. At ILUMNO, and together with Babson, we want to support their dreams and ambitions, and to promote social transformation in each of the countries we are in.”

According to the 2017/18 Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, sponsored by Babson College, Latin America maintains the highest regional rate of Total early-stage Entrepreneurial Activity, where just under one-fifth of adults are engaged in nascent entrepreneurship. This region also demonstrates the highest rates of women and youth entrepreneurship worldwide—both at 17 percent.
