Babson College Named the No. 1 U.S. Undergraduate School for Entrepreneurship by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine

Babson’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business also ranked No. 4 nationally

The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur MagazineFor the sixth year in a row, Babson College has been ranked No. 1 by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine on their list of the Top 25 Best Undergrad Programs for Entrepreneurs.

Recognized for its level of commitment to entrepreneurial studies, both inside and outside of the classroom, Babson is ranked above other well-known entrepreneurship programs at the University of Michigan, Northeastern University, Washington University, and Baylor University, among others.

On the graduate side, the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College also earned a top spot, named No. 4 nationally, above such institutions as Northwestern University, the University of Virginia, Northeastern University, Syracuse University, and more.

“To be continuously recognized for our efforts in entrepreneurship education, especially by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine, is something we are extremely proud of,” said Candida Brush, vice provost of Global Entrepreneurial Leadership at Babson College. “As a community, we strive to provide our students with the very best in education, experience, and resource—a combination that has and will help them to create great economic and social value everywhere.”

In Babson College’s undergraduate and graduate profiles, Entrepreneur shares that The Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship was established in 1978, and that Babson offers more than 36 entrepreneurship-related courses at both levels. Entrepreneur also adds that during the last 10 years, Babson undergraduate and graduate students have started 1,695 companies and have collectively raised $265.5 million in funding. Babson’s entire entrepreneurship faculty has started, bought, or run a successful business, and 77 individual mentors worked with students through an officially sponsored school program.

The rankings will be published in the December issue of Entrepreneur magazine, available on newsstands November 28, 2017.

Methodology

The Princeton Review chose the schools for its 2018 undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship rankings based on surveys of schools conducted from June through August 2017. More than 300 schools reported data about their entrepreneurship offerings.

The 60-question survey asked schools to report on levels of their commitment to entrepreneurship studies inside and outside the classroom. More than 40 data points were analyzed for the tally to determine the rankings. Topics included: the percentage of faculty, students, alumni actively and successfully involved in entrepreneurial endeavors, the number and reach of mentorship programs, scholarships, and grants for entrepreneurial studies, and the level of support for school-sponsored business plan competitions.
