Stela Maksutaj ’17, an Albanian immigrant, moved to New Jersey at the age of 4 along with her parents and older sister. As a Center for Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership scholar, she took every opportunity to be involved on Babson’s campus while pursuing her passions. Preceding her role as vice president of leadership at CWEL, she traveled to Rwanda to teach entrepreneurship and English at a secondary school. In addition to achieving the Dean’s List and attaining academic excellence, Maksutaj served as the chair of the Honor Board for three years. She held multiple roles in the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, such as president, and was nationally recognized with an Excellence in Chapter Management Award.

Aside from organizational involvement, she also served as a peer career ambassador while mentoring and working in the Undergraduate Center for Career Development. In July, Maksutaj will jump-start her career as a business development manager for Elevate Education, where she will be engaging with K-12 schools in the New York boroughs to introduce and develop an integrated study skills curriculum.
