Undergraduate Ceremony Student Speaker
Shatiek Jamal Gatlin ’16
Shatiek Jamal Gatlin, a native of Queens, New York, will be the first in his family to graduate from college and is the oldest of four boys. A Posse Scholar and Gates Millennium Scholar, Shatiek made the most of his Babson experience, maintaining his academic excellence and honing his leadership skills. This semester alone, Shatiek was honored with the Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award and the Lewis Institute Changemaker Award. He lived and breathed Babson, serving as an integral part of the community as an FME mentor, the president of the Black Student Union, a consultant at the Writing Center, and as a tour guide. In July, Shatiek will start his career as a finance associate with Nielsen’s Emerging Leaders Program, a two-year management training program for high-potential young professionals.
Graduate Ceremony Student Speaker
Xin Guo MBA’16
Xin Guo was a section representative of the MBA class, a student ambassador in the MBA Admissions Office, and the treasurer of the Babson Badminton Club. He grew up in Shanxi, China, and went to college at Beijing Jiaotong University in Beijing, China. Prior to Babson, Xin represented a Turkish industrial valve company as it developed its business in China. He also is interested in the education industry, as he has experience bringing the concept of an American liberal arts education and American summer camps to Chinese customers. Xin loves life and believes that his mission is to make the world a better place.
