Honorary Degree Recipients

Each year Babson honors individuals with an honorary degree at our undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies.

An honorary degree is the highest accolade a college or university can bestow and Babson’s first honorary degree, a Doctor of Laws, was presented in 1959. While the award specifics are unique to each person, a common trait of all recipients is their commitment to service in its broadest sense.

We have honored a variety of prominent individuals from various backgrounds, including entrepreneurship, business, government, literature and journalism, the arts, philanthropy, and sports, as well as former faculty, presidents, trustees and, most notably, our own distinguished alumni.
