Annual Capital Projects

Summer 2018

  • Annual Tree Pruning From May 21st through June 25th Facilities Management will be working around campus.
    • Week of 5/21: Sorenson Center, Kriebel, Bryant, Uppper Residence Hall road area, lawn in front of Park Manor West.
    • Week of 5/29: Landscaped island between Trim Parking Lot and Map Hill Drive, and Knight lot
    • Week of 6/4: Post Office, Millea, Kriebel, Bryant, Pietz, Public Safety, Olin areas. Babson and Lunder parking lots
    • Week of 6/11: Woodland Hills, BECC
    • Week of 6/18: Remaining stump grinding around campus
  • Classroom upgrades:  From May 21st through end of June, Facilities Management and ITSD will be updating Gerber Hall classrooms 101, 102 and 103 and Kriebel 212.  These rooms will be off-line during this time and will reopen in the first week in July.  Heating and cooling improvements will be made in Horn Computer Center rooms 150, 153, 154, 159 and 160.  These rooms will be taken off-line one at a time while the work is completed and will be coordinated with the class schedule.
  • Forest and Pietz residence halls will be off-line for the summer as renovations to both buildings are completed. 
     
  • Coleman residence hall will be partially off-line for the summer as flooring is replaced and ITSD network upgrade is completed.  Restroom and shower facilities for faculty and staff while the Webster Center is closed this summer will remain available.
  • Winn Auditorium will be off-line for the summer and again during winter break following the fall semester while complete renovation of the space is completed.  
  • Needham/Wellesley Room and Trim 201/202: new moveable partition walls will be installed to improve the sound barrier between the two sides of these rooms.  The rooms will be taken off-line for several consecutive days to allow for the installation and will be coordinated with the class and occupancy schedule.
  • Parking Deck repairs: Both levels of the parking deck will be closed the week of July 2nd through July 7th.  Both levels will reopen on Sunday, July 8th with work continuing in selective areas through July 27th. 
  • College Drive Street Lighting:  Starting May 21st, additional streetlights will be installed adjacent to Knight parking lot facing the BRAC construction site.  This work may require temporary redirection of pedestrian access.
  • Reynolds Campus Center mechanical system upgrades will be completed from May 1st to June 30th.  This work will be planned to have minimal impact on building occupants.  Any building system interruptions will be planned outside of regular business hours. 
  • Malloy Hall mechanical equipment upgrades will be completed between May 21st and June 30th.  Most of this work is exterior to the building on the roof, but some work within the building will be required.  This work will be planned to have minimal impact on building residents.
