An Evening with Jackson Katz Full Details [X]

Jackson Katz is one of America's leading anti-sexist male activists. An educator, author, filmmaker, and cultural theorist, he is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work in the field of gender violence prevention education and critical media literacy.

Katz is the co-founder of the Mentors In Violence Prevention (MVP) program, the leading gender violence prevention initiative in professional and college athletics. He is the director of the first worldwide domestic and sexual violence prevention program in the United States Marine Corps. He is also the creator and co-creator of educational videos for college and high school students, including Tough Guise: Violence, Media, and the Crisis in Masculinity (2000), Wrestling With Manhood (2002) and Spin the Bottle: Sex, Lies and Alcohol (2004).

His first book, The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and How All Men Can Help, was published by Sourcebooks in 2006. Katz's second book, Leading Men: Presidential Campaigns and the Politics of Manhood, was published by Interlink Publishing in 2012.

Following his talk, Katz will be signing copies of his books.

Art and Soul Series

Art and Soul is a program through which we seek to embody the belief that education is a spiritual as well as an intellectual journey.  The Art and Soul program is an evening of community celebration and participation around themes of spirituality and the arts, featuring performances, art exhibits, workshops and etc.  Delicious treats are provided to nourish the body as performances feed the soul.  Art and Soul Concerts, Performances, and Educational Programs are hosted at the Glavin Family Chapel.  These programs explore themes of spirituality and religious pluralism.

Please come to and listen to Babson Faculty as they share their personal work with us. 

Mindfulness Meditation

Fridays from noon-12:45 pm in the Glavin Family Chapel (for Staff and faculty only)

Real Life Christian Community Worship Service

Real Life has a weekly Citywide meeting at Park Street Church in downtown Boston nearly every Friday night of the school year. Come join us and meet students from all over Boston. 
We meet every Friday evening at 6:15 in Hollister parking lot to get rides, so if you plan to come, please text or email Ben Pierce (bpierce1@babson.edu or 802-375-4377) by Thursday so that he can know how many cars we will need for getting to the city!

Interfaith Council Meetings

All are welcome to learn more about other faith traditions, explore your own identity and challenge your beliefs in a safe and open environment.  Opportunities exist for collaboration and programming.  Please contact Denning Aaris for more information.  
Meeting times for the spring semester are:
bi-weekly, every other Tuesday evening from 5 pm- 6pm

Yoga Classes

All are welcome to join instructor Neil Sullivan for an hour and a half Yoga class.  Matts are provided and we welcome all levels to practice.  Classes start January 26th.
