In the same way that we support our students to learn and develop, we support and invest in our employees, too. It’s key to our success. As a world-class college, we need our people to set the tempo, becoming the learning pioneers who seek out new approaches, advocate continuous learning, and lead by example when it comes to owning and driving personal development.

Continuous Learning is one of Babson’s six core competencies, so we place great importance on the ongoing development of our employees. The College’s continuous learning objective is to provide opportunities that enhance near-term job performance, employee engagement, and achievement of career goals; and the Organizational Learning and Development department provides a variety of services to promote employees’ personal and professional growth. Employees and supervisors are encouraged to take an active role in identifying and pursuing opportunities on and off campus to sustain continued learning.

In addition to offering a variety of skills training workshops for employees at all levels, Babson also highlights its commitment to continuous learning through our semiannual Community Learning Day which represents a unique design and approach to workplace learning by giving all Babson College faculty and staff the opportunity to invest in professional and personal development and connect, grow, and give back to the community.

Continuous Learning generally refers to workshops or seminars offered to teach specific skills or knowledge, or opportunities that allow employees to develop personally.

Organizational Development refers to a systematic approach to improving individual, group and/or organizational effectiveness.

He chooses mis-tinted paints and found objects for his art surfaces, because, as he says, &ldquo;I&rsquo;d like not to make more waste than is already here.&rdquo; Consumer culture, interpersonal relationships, the art world, our current political climate, heartbreak, gentrification, socioeconomic stratification, and fear of failure are a just a few of the themes where he mines incongruities for humor and pathos.</span></span>

By relaxing tension and opening to our sensory experience through these techniques, participants will learn new means of working with stress, difficult emotions, physical discomfort, and the challenges we encounter in our lives.     <span style="font-family: 'Cambria',serif; font-size: 12pt;">Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.&nbsp; With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.&nbsp; No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.&nbsp; Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.&nbsp; Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.&nbsp; So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.&nbsp; You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.&nbsp; The course will be taught by faculty member Carolyn Hotchkiss, who has studied Yang and Sun style Tai Chi for five years, and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis.&nbsp;</span>

The figures&rsquo; relationships to flora, fauna, and the elements speak metaphorically to the ways we find meaning in our lives and meet the challenges of our surroundings.
