On-Campus Employment
Current Babson students in F-1 and J-1 status who are maintaining valid status may be eligible for on-campus employment.
On-campus jobs provide an opportunity to gain work experience in the U.S. while assisting Babson departments with a range of tasks—from undergraduates in entry-level positions to graduate students performing research and developing programs. On-campus employment encompasses jobs that are paid directly by Babson College.
Limitations
On-campus employment is limited to 20 hours/week while school is in session and can be full-time (more than 20 hours/week) during official college breaks.
- F-1 students do not need authorization to work on-campus. However, to apply for a Social Security number(SSN), students must complete and submit an On-Campus Employment Form (pdf).
- J-1 students must receive authorization BEFORE beginning employment and report their employer information to OIP through the On-Campus Employment Form (pdf).
To view and apply for available on-campus positions, visit the Student Employment Office website. All students must have a Social Security number (SSN) before beginning employment.
We always recommend meeting with an international student adviser before beginning any employment. This is the only way to be sure that you will not engage in unauthorized employment that may affect your future in the United States.
